We offer a wide variety of unique products for our clients and customers. One of those products we offer is our adhesion-capable Volan product. But what is Volan, and should you use it?
Volan is a chemical bonding agent used to prepare inorganic surfaces for the adhesion of various resins. It is a reactive solution where a chrome three molecule is reacted with NEFA chromic acid. It provides adhesion promotion in different adhesive solutions.
Volan is a sister product to Quilon but does the complete opposite. Volan promotes adhesion in fiberglass, polymer, microspheres, and multiple other applications. Volan is the perfect solution for your bonding agent problem. It bonds very well to surfaces like glass or carbon fiber to ensure it remains in place, no matter what.
The family of Quilon products is chemical treatments that impart release or water repellency to various surfaces. Quilon is a reactive solution where long-chain fatty acids are reactive and complexed with a chrome three molecule. This product comes in a solution, mainly from isopropyl alcohol. It is fully reducible in water and is used by diluting in water, typically for the treatment of paper, metal, plastic film, or other surfaces where one is looking to incorporate release properties.
